The NANOS Illustrated Curriculum was produced by the Neuro-ophthalmology Virtual Education Library (NOVEL) team at the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library at the University of Utah in collaboration with the North American Neuro-ophthalmology Society (NANOS). Materials added to the Illustrated Curriculum have been peer-reviewed.

This resource is intended for those "engaged in microbial analysis of clinical specimens," which is primarily clinical laboratory scientists. Laboratory medicine practitioners and infectious disease practitioners, whether students, residents, fellows, or in practice, also would find it valuable. It is also useful to other detail-oriented staff including nurses, practitioners, and allied health providers.

Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man’s (OMIM) is a continuously updated, comprehensive, authoritative compendium of human genes and genetic phenotypes (disorders and traits) with full-text, referenced overviews of over 8,300 phenotypes and over 15,400 genes.

 The Welch Library was responsible for creating OMIM as an online database, and for providing access.
