When preparing for a presentation or talk, finding a good image to reflect your topic is often necessary. Welch Library provides some great image resources that you should definitely try out the next time you need this type of information.
SpringerImages is a growing collection of scientific images that spans the scientific, technical and medical fields. The collection is updated continually and currently contains over 5 million images. The search interface is easy to use and fast, and users can easily export images for use in their own presentations or lectures.
To use SpringerImages, search for it from the Welch Library Website (www.welch.jhu.edu) in the Welch E-Resources search bar under "explore our collection." You will need to register for an account with SpringerImages in order to download the images in Powerpoint or PDF format. The source of the image is downloaded along with the image for easy citation.
ClinicalKey is another great resource for images, providing access to over 50,000 images, 900 e-books, 13,000 videos, the medical and surgical clinics of North America, drug information, patient education materials and practice guidelines
Like SpringerImages, you will need to register for an account with ClinicalKey to be able to export the images into Powerpoint. The image source and a caption will be downloaded along with the image for easy inclusion into your presentation or lecture.
