Hear Ye! Hear Ye! We invite you to stop by the Welch Library on Monday, April 14th. Our 2nd floor will be on display. And if you can’t make it, here are a few pictures to show you what we’ve been up to. Obviously, there are some final touches being put in place….

Below, our 2nd floor lobby . The historical feel of the library still shines through, even with that “jazzy” new lighting.

Our West Reading Room, below, looking pristine and extremely classy. If you look hard and move close to this picture you can almost hear the silence of patrons at work.

And here at our Monument Street entrance our new windows are practically sparkling. “Windows to another world?” Ours are so new you can see clear to another galaxy. Honest!

This is just a little sneak peek. We’re thrilled that our renovations are now a reality. Just in time for spring (whenever it FINALLY arrives) and summer. Why? Because everyone knows the coolest place to be in the heat of a Baltimore summer. (Hint: it’s the library!) We like to think we’re an oasis in more ways than one. Patrons have always been able to read, research and have that peaceful "time out" from their own busy day.

So if you're traveling 'round Monument Street --- and if you have the time, stop on by this Monday, April 14th.
