PIvot and Covidence, newly added resources

Pivot is the product of the merger of RefWorks with COS (a ProQuest brand), which provides tools for discovering funding opportunities and supporting collaboration in the research development field.

Pivot is a web-based discovery and workflow tool that combines a comprehensive source of global funding opportunities with the largest collection of scholar profiles into one intuitive solution. With Pivot, researchers, faculty and research administrators can explore new avenues for funding, view funding opportunities uniquely matched to their scholar profile, collaborate with colleagues and manage the results of the process to build a funding strategy that supports both immediate and long-term funding needs.


Covidence is a not-for-profit service working in partnership with Cochrane to improve the production and use of systematic reviews.

Key Features, from the Cochrane website:

  • Support for duplicated, independent processes, including at citation screening, full text review, Risk of Bias (RoB) and Data Extraction stages

  • Resolution of screening, RoB, and data extraction conflicts, and agreement on final consensus data

  • Import of citations from a range of reference managers and de-duplication of study citations (with manual override)

  • Storage of full text study reports

  • Automatic population of Risk of Bias tables with text selected in full text reports

  • Simple export of data into RevMan or Excel
