Dear Colleagues,

Please join us for the third Research Integrity Colloquium of the 2017-2018 season on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in Mountcastle Auditorium (first floor of the Pre-clinical Teaching Building). This event will also be simulcast to the Carroll Auditorium at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and Room 1340 of the Outpatient Care Center at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital.

The colloquium, “The Responsible Management of Data for the Basic Sciences,” will feature presentations by Randy Reed, assistant dean for research, co-director of the Center for Sensory Biology, and professor of molecular biology and genetics, neuroscience and otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery; and Anne Seymour, director of the William H. Welch Medical Library and assistant professor of health sciences informatics. Dr. Reed will discuss the need and approaches for improved data management/handling in the basic sciences and Ms. Seymour will discuss the resources available through the library to help researchers in the basic sciences responsibly manage/handle their data and conduct their research.

The Research Integrity Colloquia—formerly the Dean’s Research Integrity Lecture Series—are a core component of the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Program, which is administered by the Division of Research Integrity in the Office of Policy Coordination. All individuals participating in research at the school of medicine are required to complete training in RCR.

Complete information on the 2017-2018 Colloquia can be found at the Research Integrity website:
